I have tried to configure a CUCM 8.5 with TANDBERG 1700 MXP and I could not, if someone already did and help me with this issue either SIP or H323.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

The mxp units can be registered to cucm as third party (basic) endpoints.

Please find the steps to register mxp.

Configure sip settings on mxp such as sip uri and proxy address.

1. Sip Mode: on

2. SIP Uri:    DN@ipaddress of cucm   eg: 9011@10.10.10.1

3. Server Discovery : manual

4. Server Address:  ip address of cucm.

5.  Server Type: cisco

6.   Transport: let it be auto however incase that did not work, change to udp.

7.  TLs: off

8:  Sip authentication user name:  user you have created on cucm  eg  9011 or amlesh

9.  Password:  use same password configured while creating user 9011 or amlesh

CUCM config:

1.  Select third party basic profile.

2.  add mac address of mxp endpoint.

3.  select proper sip profile, phone templates etc.

4.  under digest user and owner user id select the same user eg: 9011 or amlesh

5.  save the configuration and assign same DN that we used in sip uri settings on mxp.

6.  Also associate mxp device to user using device association pane on cucm.

Please let me know if these work for you. I have tried this in my lab and that works.

Thanks,

Amlesh

Hi,

I assume you have configured it however just to recheck, in CUCM for this particular third party profile, did you confiured the digest user and owner used id as "TANDBERG".

Also provide the xstatus sip from mxp CLI to further review the error.

Thanks,

Amlesh

Hi,

You can also register mxp in cucm as h323 device in cucm and it will also work.

Vivek

I am trying to register a 1700 MXP to CUCM 10.5.2 and am receiving a 500 Internal Server Error from the MXP.

I've tried it both with an unsecure and Digest Auth required profile without any luck.

I'm referencing this whitepaper for configuration but still no luck.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I just tried to register MXP 1700 (F9.3.4) to CUCM 10.5.2 as Third party basic device and it got registered.

I used exact same steps as provided in the post above.

Thanks,

Amlesh

Please see my screen shots to confirm configuration.

Digest Auth User and Password are both 1101500 in all fields for both MXP and CUCM

Hi,

Try to use these configuration:

++ Choose SIP profile as Standard SIP Profile

++ Device Security profile as Third-party SIP Device Basic - Standard SIP Non-Secure Profile or Disable Digest Authentication on current selected profile.

++ Choose Owner and then select owner userid.

Thanks,

Amlesh

I believe I found the issue.  The 10.34.64.20 IP i used is the Publisher node in which we do not have the Call Manager service running as no devices register to it.  Instead, I used a subscriber IP of 10.34.64.21 and that has allowed the unit to register successfully.

New issue is that calls made to and from video capable devices registerd to CUCM do not connect with Video, audio only.

Hi,

When you place the call, make sure you select Dial Profile as SIP and not H.323.

Thanks,

Amlesh

Sorry - I edited my post as I caught that shortly after posting.  Still have the above issue with no video either direction.

Hi,

Make sure your region/location settings allow video calls.

Thanks,

Amlesh
