DX Series seems to only handle either a HDMI input from a laptop or a HDMI output to a monitor, but not both.
I've tried this on several DX70/80s but it doesn't do both at the same time. Is there a setting I'm missing?
I don't want to keep unplugging HDMI cables based on usage.
The datasheet does say that High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) type A port output (reserved for future use), but it does work.
From looking at Cisco's documentation, the DX70 only has one HDMI input port, which means one device at a time can send video to the DX70. If you want to get around this you can buy an HDMI switching device that switches between sources.
HDMI Switch Example:
But what I'm trying to do is have my laptop as an HDMI input to the DX70, while also sending the HDMI output of the DX70 to a large screen monitor. The EX 60 & 90s were able to pull this off. The DX70 appears to only be able to handle either an Input or Output, but not both simultaneously.
The DX80 datasheet says the HDMI output is "reserved for future use".
Sorry I misunderstood. I'm not an expert on the subject, but it sounds like it may not be able to support the two simultaneously, like you mentioned. If it can support them both independently, then you know it's not some sort of resolution or other issue.
