Ex 90 built in mic issue

There seems to be an issue with the built in mic of the EX90.

the end user complaints that the mic pick up is too soft.

Is there any possibility to increase the sensitivity of the microphone.

Thanks in advance.

There is no way to adjust the pick up of the internal microphone of the EX90.  If you're wanting to increase the pickup, you could try using an external microphone with better pick up (or out it closer to the end user).

If it's just the far end of the call by your user that can't hear properly, perhaps they have not adjusted the volume at their end to a suitable level?

If the microphone is giving a really low level, it could be faulty - if that's the case, log a job with the TAC and they will organize an RMA of the endpoint (if it's covered under an active service contract, which is always recommended for these type of devices).

Thanks Mr. Wayne DeNardi, We have plugged in an external mic for testing porposes. The mic is from an SX20 unit. I believe it is the same as that recommended for the EX90 i.e

Cisco TelePresence Table Microphone 20
(external microphone)

The problem is that the caller is still very soft/ not loud at the far end despite the microphone used at the caller end and the volume turned up at the far end.

Is there any other setting that is missing? or any configuration that can be done to increase the microphones sensitivity.

Regards and thanks in advance

One thing to check is the call status. What is the audio codec being used? What kind of endpoint they are using on the far end? Is this a point to point call? Is there a call bridge/MCU involved?

There are no options on the EX90 that can be adjusted.  If you've tried the external mic, as well as the internal (does the handset do the same as well?), and are getting the same result, it's likely that the issue is at the far end, where they either have not got enough volume, or have their volume up too high and it's echo cancelling at their end.

You could test the audio level that you're sending by dialling something like 111@199.48.152.152 (Parrot at BlueJeans) which will echo whatever you say back to you (albeit slightly distorted like a parrot).  If you can clearly hear what you're saying via that on your EX, then you know that your EX is sending audio correctly.
