I've deployed Expressway C & E X8.10.4 for MRA.
On both server I noticed these type of errors/alarms:
Application failed
An unexpected software error was detected in /opt/jabber/xcp/bin/jabberd -c /opt/jabber/xcp/etc/jabber.xml -P /var/run/xcp/jabberd.pid: 1
Restart the system; if the problem persists, contact your Cisco support representative
Is this a known bug?
Should I downgrade to a more stable version?

Hi,
Not sure whether this bug listed for x8.2 could be the real cause for the error

The alarm only states that the jabberd app crashed (used for unified communication cases, MRA, CMS, Spark) though it does not give much detail on to why which would make it hard to associate to a bug as several reason could cause it to crash.
I would suggest to open a TAC case if possible and provide the Full System Snapshot up front for the engineer to investigate the crash further and possibly associate it to a bug.
Downgrading or upgrading wont be a definitive answer until the cause has been isolated.
