Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone has come across a whitepaer that provides the pros and cons of using H460 over SIP/ICE or the opposite? I'm particularly interested in knowing whether one is more interesting than the other in terms of its bandwidth requirements? I.E. does SIP/ICE use more bandwidth than H460?
Thanks in advance,
Andrew
H.460 is a series of extensions, but I assume you refer to the firewall traversing part.
The RTP is more or less the same if you use h.323 or sip. There might be differences
in how the bandwidth limitations are enforced, but in general I would say the traffic usage
should be the sam.
The more interesting or negative site is that the traffic might flow different.
WIth h.460.18/19 media will always be bound the to VCS,
When you have a STUN/TURN/ICE setup traffic might do the same but
it can also flow directly, so if you know that the path in between the clients and
the VCS is ok but the path in between the clients this would most likely not detected.
