Hello,

I would like to know how can I setup an IR lamp with the Cisco PVC 2300 cameras so that it can be used in low or no lights.

Thanks

We need to use IR lamp from external vendor(s). IR lamp typically takes 12V DC / 24V AC/DC. Some of them also have PoE options. Installation guides are also available from external vendors.

Example :

Cisco VC 020 enclosure for the PVC 2300 camera provides 12V DC output that can be used to power the IR Lamp. Please refer to the following document for the pin details (page 33) :

Arun

thanks for your answer

Hello,

I used the first and second PIN with an external IR lamp but the problem i get is that the 12 V output of the PVC2300 camera becomes 0 V when i connect the IR lamp.

Let me understand. Are you connecting first and second PIN directly from the camera or from the terminal block assembly in the camera enclosure?

Arun

Hi,

I'm connecting it directly to the camera.

The camera does not provide 12V DC by itself. The pins in the camera are used for RS-485 and Alarm input and output.

The 12V DC is provided by the terminal block assembly in "VC 020" Enclosure unit.

Arun

Many thanks.

Kamouni.
