Hi

I assume you have checked this even though you are not mentioning it.

1. Check that the mic on the other side is not muted.

2. Check that your audio out is not muted.

3. Can you call other peers without seeing the same issue?

4. Isolate the issue a bit more that will make it easier for us to point you in the right direction. There are

Many things that can cause this.

Hi Jude,

I agree with what Magnus has mentioned above. I would also like to add :-

  1. check by connecting some other mic in place of the existing one.
  2. try to restart your codec
  3. try to connect the same mic to other codec and see if you are able to transmit voice.
  4. if nothing works, please perform factory default to the system assuming mic and cables are fine.

hope it helps.

Thanks  Saurabh,

1. Basically the opposite side could hear me buth i cannot hear them, which proves that my mic is ok.

2.I have also tried using other speakers to no avail.

Hello Magnus thanks for your response.

1. The mic on the other side is confirmed not muted

2. My audio out is not muted either.

3. Calling other peers is the same result.

Hi Jude.

Every TP call you make, you are unable to hear the party you are calling?  And you have tested external speakers, with no luck?

This sounds like a configuration issue.

Your DNAM for your profile uses SPDIF, so please enter this command to force digital output on your system

xconfiguration audio outputs line 1 type: SPDIF

After executing this command, please try to see if you can hear any sound.

PS:

When you try external speakers you would have run the command below in the CLI. This will force analog output.

xconfiguration audio outputs line 1 type: analog

Please refer to site 45 in the MXP API guide for more audio configuration options.

You can find the guide at this link http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/endpoint/mxp-series/f9/api_reference_guide/mxp_codec3000-6000_api_reference_guide_f90.pdf

Thanks

Hi Marius,

What are the specs for the SPDIF output of the codecs?  (MXP, C-series)

Specifically;

Sampling rate (48, 44.1)

Type (1 or 2)

Thanks!

Hi Jude,

I assume you are not able to hear any sound from speaker (ringtone, dial tone, dial pad tone). Then it is better to check the fuse for the speaker system. Usually it is on the back side of the profile unit.

regards

Binesh.

Hi Jude,

Please check the fuse on the DNAM.  We have seen many issues on field where the fuse is faulty and need to be replaced.

The specifications of fuse are    Fuse 2 A 250 V Slow, 5 x 20 mm, Littelfuse type 21500.

Please push and twist counter-clockwise direction to release.

Thanks,
Amlesh
