Jabber config xml contact photos via MRA

Hello,

In our jabber configuration file, we have 3 directory sources entries(BDI,EDI & UDS).

We have a web server that hosts all the contact photos.

When we login via MRA, the contact photos are visible and it works as expected.

When we login to jabber while connected to internal network, some of the users' machines do not have direct access to the web server i.e we can't browse the photo by using http://<IP address>/username.jpg

The contact photos are not getting displayed due to this.

Is allowing http access to these machines the only solution? or

Is there a way to prioritize LDAP over UDS when not connected via MRA?

I read in the document that windows for jabber uses LDAP by default but not sure how it actually works when we have multiple directory entries in the configuration file.

Any suggestions, please?

Thanks in advance.

Balaji

If you're using current Jabber versions there is no longer any EDI or BDI configuration, it's now CDI or UDS, so update your .xml as necessary.

You don't even get a say in how you "prioritize" the directories, if you configured LDAP internally, you'll go to UDS automatically when you go over MRA. If you configured UDS internally, you'll use UDS all the time.

Contact pictures configuration is explained in the Jabber configuration guides, and the CDI and UDS configuration can coexist without any issue, assuming everything is configured properly.

We are running on v12.7.3

Yes, we have configured LDAP internally.

In the service profile, we have not enabled UDS but configured LDAP as directory source and provided the credentials.

In the .xml file, we have UDS entries for the MRA along with EDI & BDI.

Now, the problem is when we connect internally, the directory source is set to LDAP and the profile pictures are not getting displayed.

What do we need to do in order to display the profile pictures both internally and via MRA?

Please advise.

Any suggestions on this, please?
