Hi all,
Assuming a new on-premise jabber deployment with CUCM 12.5SU3, is it possible to configure or setup the jabber clients so that they can be used only for the following:
1) Accepting but not sending video streams from either point-to-point calls or conferencing. This means jabber can accept video streams but not send them. Audio streams should not arrive at the jabber client.
2) Use jabber for content sharing so that someone from their desktop can present with jabber to other endpoints, but the audio and video from the jabber would be disabled. If they want audio/video they need to use a deskphone or something.
In short:
Jabber inputs: Video without audio
Jabber outputs: Content sharing
It's an odd request, but those are the demands. Of course blocking RTP can be done via other infrastructure such as firewalls. Is it feasible to setup jabber like this?
Thanks for your time!

ok for p2p solution, what you can do is block the jabber app on user's computer from using the permissions on the camera driver, usb camera or laptop camera. Install a simulation camera for example ManyCam so that the user always has a fixed image / blank screen. And as for audio you can block rtp coming in on the fw of the computer or on the network if there is one.
which product did you deploy for video conferencing?

Thanks for the reply,
We'll be using deskphones for video.
Is it not possible to pre-configure jabber so that it can accept video but not send video? I imagine an RTP based blocking solution would also be viable for video streams if it can be done for audio.
Any particular reason why you emphaized that it's only for a p2p solution? Can't something similar be done for p2mp (conferencing)?
