Multipoint Calling - Telepresence

All,

I have 3 x SX20 units connected to a CUCM 10.5 cluster. Currently we are only dialing point to point, however we would like to be able to conference in the 3rd SX20 unit to the ad hoc style conference. Each unit is currently licensed with a ROOM license, what do I need to do to be able to make these multipoint calls happen?

Thanks

D

You will need the option 2 as mentioned on my first post. The MCU or Telepresence Server will handle large conferences consisting more than 4 participants beyond what the SX20 can do.

Or you would need also to consider upgrading the licenses on your existing CUCM:

2 options:

1. You need the Multisite Option key to be installed on the SX20 that will host the multisite call to enable the multisite feature and can join up to 4 sites (3+1) including the host.

2. Or you would need a MCU or TelePresence Server  that act as conference bridge and conference resource in your CUCM to be able to make simultaneous calls in a conference.

Thanks Acevirgil.

I Can see in the SX20 documentation:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/collaboration-endpoints/telepresence-sx20-quick-set/data_sheet_c78-688342.html

The SX20 Quick Set supports optional embedded multipoint support with Cisco® TelePresence MultiSite technology, enabling users to add three additional participants to a video call.

To take this beyond 3 additional participants, what options do I have? Multipoint? This being unlimited based on your MCU?

Hi Acevirgil,

Is the Multisite licensing still required for VC units, i.e. SX20, SX80, SRK and SRK+, in order to make multi site\point to point connections, when these devices are registering directly to Cisco Call Manager v11.5?!

Thank you,

Yes you can still buy it
