RIP in SIP call between two CTS?!?

I have official Cisco telepresence doc that is explaining how basic call between two CTS endpoints is established: first SIP is exachanged between endpoints and the CUCM, then RIP (?!?) is exchanged directly between two endpoints and finally RTP that includes TIP is also exchanged directly between two endpoints. Can you please explain what that RIP part stands for?

Could you please point out to the documentation you're referring to?

In reference to SIP, there is no RIP which I am aware of. It is possible that the RIP is the Routing Information Protocol used to exchange routes but will need to check the document to confirm.
