Hi All ,
Does CUCM 7.x support SIP Video over SIP trunk ?
For instance SIP Phone 1 --- Call Manager -(sip trunk ) -- Asterisk --- SIP Phone 2
Can SIP Phone 1 initiate a video call to SIP Phone 2 ?
I took wireshark captures and saw that the SDP messages from SIP Phone 1 is modified by CM.
Thanks for your help,
Regards,
Kursat

Hi Kursat,
We have been looking at this issue and have found that the SIP trunk providers connection to the PSTN does not support H.323 (H245) traffic in their network. Have you (or anyone else) found a SIP trunk provider that supports video over SIP?
Cheers,
Gordon

Yes, CUCM 7.x supports video stream for calls across a SIP trunk. The default behavior of CUCM is to send a SIP INVITE without SDP (also called as SIP Delayed offer) while placing an outbound call across SIP trunk. Depending on SIP-Phone-2's codec capabilities (as advertised in the SDP offer in 18x / 200 OK SIP response), CUCM will setup audio only or video & audio call.
In your scenario, does the outbound SIP invite from CUCM have SDP? If yes, is MTP enabled on the SIP Trunk?
