Spark Room vs MX Series - what is the difference?

Does the Spark series also contain a codec? Is it an SX80 codec?
What is the main difference between the Spark Room series and the MX series?

Spark Room Series contains the next generation collaboration endpoints : Cisco Spark Room 55 / 70; Cisco Spark Room Kit / Kit Plus. It is kinda of advanced version and migration option near future of MX Series portfolio : MX200/300; MX700/800; with latest features like 4K Camera and Resolution support. 

There is a codec within Spark Room Series, it is Cisco Spark Codec Plus not SX80.

It depends on the model to which codec they have in them.

The original MX200 and MX300 were one of the older codecs (C20 from memory). the "G2" versions were based on an SX20.

The MX700/800s were based on the SX80.

The Spark Room series are based on the new Room series codecs (RoomKit, RoomKit Plus).

The main difference between them is the Room Series are the newer range and currently being developed, the MX series are the old range which are becoming End-of-Sale.

If you are buying new devices, the Room Series are the ones to be looking at.
