SX series multiparty calls with Lync 2013

Hi,

In a deployment consisting of SX20s with multisite, VCS 8.X with the Microsoft interoperability option key and TMS 14.X, can calls with two or more Lync clients be hosted on an SX20 or is a TP server or MCU needed?  On the flip side can a SX20 join or be added to a call with two or more Lync clients hosted on a Lync server?  And for both of these scenarios how does the SX20 join the call?  Can it be ad-hoc or must it be scheduled via TMS or outlook?

Thanks!

If you ahve it all deployed as per the guides, then yes, an SX20 with multisite wil be able to make multiple calls out to Lync/Skype for Buisness clients.  No additional TP Server or MCU would be needed (you're using the in-built MCU in the SX20 whcih you have tiwht the multisite licence).

Same for Lync hosted conference - you should be able to dial the SX20 endpoint in to a conference.

You should not need to schedule any of these, they can be ad-hoc.

Thank you Wayne.  I have another question for clarification.  The deployment guide on page 70 under the subheading "Joining a Lync conference (AV MCU)" states the following:

"Using a Lync client to invite a third party to join the call does not work if the third endpoint is an endpoint registered to the VCS Control, or if the endpoint registered to the VCS Control is already in the call and another Lync client is introduced into the call... Note, however use of Multiway on endpoints can join Lync clients into an ad hoc conference (see Cisco TelePresence Multiway Deployment Guide)."

Does this mean, for example, in a scenario where two or more Lync clients are in a call an endpoint cannot be added?

Also regarding content sharing, can content be shared between endpoints and Lync? If so, are there any limitations?
