SX20 restarting during connection-

Visualcom23
Level 1
Level 1

We have a customer that has a SX20 that reboots as soon as they connect to an other endpoint.

I know there are some kind of clock that needs to be synced in order for a connection to funktion properly, but I've forgotten how to force them to sync.

Does anybody here know of this issue and how to solve it?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

you can try this command to set the clock from root. Login as admin and set the root password using :

systemtools rootsettings on password

And the login as root to set date.

[dderidde-sx20:~] $ date 121215242012

Wed Dec 12 15:24:00 CET 2012

[dderidde-sx20:~] $

Feed the date to the hwclock.

[dderidde-sx20:~] $ hwclock --systohc

[dderidde-sx20:~] $ tsh

Welcome to dderidde.sx20

Cisco Codec Release TC5.1.5.297625

SW Release Date: 2012-11-16

OK

And then set NTP to get your clock synced automatically!

xConfiguration NetworkServices NTP Mode: Manual

xConfiguration NetworkServices NTP Address: "drop.cisco.com"

You need to have vaild NTP server!

Which release do you use on SX20? I would recommend you load latest TC5.1.5.

Hello,

I tried the commands as you sugested.

I haven't been able to confirm if it worked or not, the customer is not available right now.

We are a bit aprehensive in upgrading to TC5.1.5 yet beacuse we have encountered some problems with it in our own systems.

I will however uppgrade to TC5.1.4.

Thank you for the guide!
