SX80 and DB9 12 vDC power supply question

All:

We are replacing our C40 codecs with SX80 codecs, and the power for the camera has been supplied by the C40 DB9 connector.

I am trying to determine if the SX80 DB9 is able to supply the 12v DC power.  Has anybody been successful in powering the Precision camera off of the DB 9 connector?

No, the SX80 does not provide power on the serial port.  You must power the camera separately.

You can use the PrecisionHD Camera from your C40, but there is no DC power output from the camera control port, so you'll have to use the external power supply that came with the camera.
