Dears,

We are having a Tandberg edge 95 mxp that is not accessible through the network (no telnet/ssh), is there a way to reset the system to factory default using the remote control ?

If its just a matter of resetting the password you can reset the admin password with the remote control. Control Panel --> Security. You can default the settings from the "installation" via Control Panel (View defaults -> Reset Defaults) but I am not sure this qualifies as a "factory reset". Can you try a serial connection to the unit?

Thanks alot for your prompt responce,

Through the console, what are the needed setting for having access to the CLI and what command shall I type for factory reset or admin password reset?

Hi,

Baud rate
cable (9600, N,8,1) to data port 1, and open up a serial connection with the
codec.
The strict password can be disabled by entering the API command:
xConfiguration StrictPassword: Off

Then enter the following command: xConfiguration SystemUnit
Password: , to set the password of the codec once again.

let usknow if it helps.

Regards

Ravi kr.

what are the needed setting for having access to the CLI

You need to have the Telnet and/or SSH service enabled to allow access to the CLI over the network.  You can find these on the Web interface under System Configuration, Misc, Services, or if you've managed to get access to the CLI via the serial interface, try

xConfiguration SSH Mode: On

xConfiguration Telnet Mode: On

what command shall I type for factory reset?

You can restore the default system settings via the remote control and the menu on the device.  In the Call Menu, press the Control Panel button, Go to Installation, View Default Settings, Restore to Default System Settings.

If you connect to the unit via the serial cable, or ssh/telnet, you can use the "defvalues" command: ie "defvalues set all" - please bear in mind that this will erase any option keys installed on the device so you may wish to take note of these first before doing so.  You could also try a "defvalues set factory" - this will also erase the eeprom and format the flash-disk.

what command shall I type for admin password reset?

See Ravi's response above.

My question is: How effect a factory reset for Tandberg mxp 95 ? I tried Ravi Kr answer without results.

WARNING 1: 'defvalues set all' will erase the option key.
WARNING 2: 'defvalues set factory' will erase the option key, erase
the eeprom and format the flash-disk. This may take several minutes.

You should be able to retrieve the keys yourself through the cisco licencing portal.

Go to https://slexui.cloudapps.cisco.com/SWIFT/LicensingUI/Quickstart and sign in.

From the menu, select "Get Licences", then "TelePresence Licences to resend".

Put in your serial number and click the "Search" button.

You will then be given a screen which shows your keys.

To save you some time - here are the keys for  serial number 31A34308:

MXP Settop Version key 5802699613321043
MXP 0/768 sw option 1855607463560236
