TCS Replacement

Hi,

I have a TCS server that's due for replacement.

Looking to replace it with CMS Recorder.

Can CMS Recorder be deployed stand-alone, or musty it be in conjunction with a CMS Call Bridge service?

VC calls are scheduled via TMS, and the TCS server added into the call (all VC units have multi-site option). Is the CMS Recorder a similar procedure from a user perspective, or are users going to need to follow a new process?

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I did consider vBrick, but the price will kill that idea.

Thanks.

You'll need to deploy CMS, as the recorder is a component of it, it doesn't function standalone with the Call Bridge etc. Currently it's not possible to scheduled or manage recordings within TMS, you can configure CMS via the API to automatically record all conferences that take place on CMS and then upload them to Rev. There is no built-in user portal for recordings and live streams with CMS, so you'll need VBrick Rev or some other streaming solution for users to view the content.

vBrick Rev is the solution if you want to migrate all of your existing content from the TCSes on to the new platform as it's supported by both TCS and CMS.

Thanks Wayne.

No need to migrate anything from TCS. It's all currently removed manually and put onto a SharePoint server.

Thanks Patrick,

Looks like I'll need to build up a CMS solution.

There is no requirement for live streams.

Saved content will be manually transferred onto a SharePoint server, so no need for a separate viewing solution.

Wait till you see the price of a CMS server and CMS Recorder - not to mention the series of licenses yearly.  Then take a look at other solutions, they may not seem that high.
