Touch Panel Remember Username and Password

Is it possible for the Touch Panel to remember username and password for pairing after codec or touch panel is restarted?

As we were testing the system sometimes touch panel was able to pair without typing username/password, some other time it was not. We dont want for the customers to have admin password so they will be able to pair these two devices. We are using SX Quick Set with TC6.1.0 an 8-inch Touch Panel.

Thanks!

HI Nejc,

touch panel will ask for username and password when trying to pair first time over  network ( not direct pairing).

after that if it is restarted or codec is powered down, it will come up paired with unit. it will ask for username and password only when manually paired or factory reset.

Hi,

thanks for the answer.

Unfortunately our customer encountered a problem with their network yesterday so they had to restart both codec and touch panel. Touch Panel successfully found codec after hitting "Refresh" button but they still had to enter username and password to pair them.

Hello,

if you hit that "Refresh" button that means you looked for "another" codec to pair with, so the touch will throw away any previous pairing data and user needs to enter username/password to establish pairing again.

If you reload codec and touch panel, the touch should automatically re-pair with the codec, provided the codec obtained the same IP address again, which is the case for static IP, but for DHCP, codec IP might have changed.

Hello,

Both IP settings (on codec and touch panel) are static. But after touch panel was restarted IP settings were deleted. We had to save them again (the same IP address). Maybe this is the reason why we had to type username and password again?

Do you maybe know why IP settings were deleted after touch panel was restarted?

Thanks!

Hello,

if you post the logsfiles from the affected system I can have a look. I have seen issues before where a statically configured touch panel would revert to DHCP for some reason. Please point your browser to the codec, login as admin and get the log files from your codec. Diagnostics -> Logfiles.
