Hi, is it mandatory to have FindMe option keys loaded on "Lync gateway" VCS in order to have presence in the Lync environnement?

Hi Abdou
I set up a Lync <> VCS integration up for a customer recently. You can still have basic presence, i.e online / offline without FindMe. If you want to see if the VC endpoint is in a call, for example, you'll need FindMe on the VCS.

If you properly want to preserve presence (incl. busy/in a call) you need the findme option key.
For testing or very small deployments you might want to consider.
For bigger ones it is a must.
Especially as you write "lync gateway" vcs. The purpose of the extra vcs (cluster) is to offload the
presence handling and not let unwanted sip messages towards the vcs/video network.
So without the proper deployment (no sip route from lync and registration of endpoints via findme to lync)
you would defeat the purpose of the lync gw vcs.
If you think about using the edge server you might need the enhanced collaboration key as well.
