videoconference with cisco BE6000

Hi,

Does cisco BE6000 platform includes conductor, TMS/TMSPE and vTS? I want to configure videoconferencing with cisco BE6000. I think I just need to purchase telepresence room endpoint. Is it correct?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Aristide

Hi Jaime,

Can I do basic videoconference with sx10 endpoints and BE6000?

Only if you have PVDM3 or PVDM4 on an ISR as the video CFB, or if you have a separate server where to place conductor and vTP.

With just the out of the box apps from a 6K, all you get is audio conferencing.

You can install any of these, but make sure that your server virtual sizing is proper.

most of these app require high resource allocation, for example vTS is recommended to be installed on dedicated chassis.

Use this tool to figure out if your server would have sufficient resources to host all VM's:

No, that's completely wrong, I suggest you review the link I posted about what is included in a 6K offering.

Hi Jaime

what you have posted is right, these are ready applications on BE6K. But at the end you can wipe this and deploy your OVA's. Its a server chassis after all and you can use available resources!

Right, but read again the original question...

You absolutely can integrate Telepresence Server, Conductor, and TMS.  These applications ARE supported on BE6000M and BE6000H servers as long as you have enough computer resources.  Here is the Virtualization for Cisco TelePresence Conductor guide as an example:

http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Virtualization_for_Cisco_TelePresence_Conductor

You still must purchase the appropriate licensing for each application.

As a further reference, here is the data sheet for BE6000 which states which applications are supported:

Hi Akaffou,

Find in below link (Table 1) with listed preloaded files on 6K datastore

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/BE6000/InstallationGuide/9_1/CUCM_BK_B379090B_00_be6k-install-guide-912/CUCM_BK_B379090B_00_be6k-install-guide-912_chapter_011.html#CUCM_RF_PA0733CC_00

However, you can get any ova and its image to deploy any server you want as long as you pay attention to the sizing.

I need to emphasize that it does not work that way, assuming you want to have Cisco support.

If you want Cisco support, you need a separate server to hold any of the apps, if you intend to use your 6K server for 6K apps, you CANNOT load any of the apps he's asking about, doing so, means losing Cisco support.

Conductor requires 2.8 GHz and I don't even believe any of the 6K servers would suffice.

You can refer to conductor datasheet as it says Two 2.4GHz (minimum), 2.8GHz (recommended) host CPU cores per Cisco TelePresence Conductor Virtual Machine; 6-GB RAM per virtual machine; 132-GB disk space per virtual machine (4-GB virtual disk 1 plus 128-GB virtual disk 2).
