Webex Codec Pro / Serial / RS232 Support

Dear All

My Customer has Probloem to connect his AMX via RS232 connection to Cisco Webex Codec pro

(via COM Port Euroblock), on the AMX they allways ask for Login user/password.

- SW is CE9.6.2
- Registered on Call manager 11.0

Regarding Rel Note CE9.6.2

"Login and password
You always have to login for serial connections to Codec Pro and Room 70 G2."

Is that Correct ?

Because Customer has another Codec which is possible to connect without Login.

On the Call manager Configuration:
Serial Port Settings:

Serial Port: On
Serial Port Login Required: Off

Does have this an effect ?

Any Idea Input7appreciated.

I am working with a Codec Pro tied to a crestron.  As far as I know, I was required to create a local account with integrator permissions to set on the crestron.  I assume its the same with AMX.

Whereas a codec plus using httpfeedback, http post, etc did not require any login.

This has changed in the latest CE9.8.0 software release - the Login Required can now be set to Off.

From the CE9.8 Admin Guide:

xConfiguration SerialPort LoginRequired
Applies to: All products
Requires user role: ADMIN
Define if login shall be required when connecting to the serial port.
This setting is not available for the first generation of boards (Webex Board 55 and Webex Board 70).
USAGE:
  xConfiguration SerialPort LoginRequired: LoginRequired
  where
    LoginRequired:
      Off/On
      Off: The user can access the device via the serial port without any login.
      On: Login is required when connecting to the device via the serial port.
    Default value:
     On

Can u please elaborate this, Because i too have same issue. I need to control the Cisco WebEx codec Pro via serial port and i didnt found the serial port login required option.

What we have found is , if we gave the user "admin" all rights, then the Serial Port RS232 , the login Prompt appears.

It seems to be without the rights "Room control" and "Integrator" for admin user, no Login prompt appears,

I had tried giving admin rights to " RoomControl " & " Integrater " and removed the rights for both as well, Still same issue.

Iam trying to control via crestron control system where in debugger its keep on giving feedback "Login Incorrect"
