The quad camera has a maximum zoom of 5X. From my experience it can handle up to about 30' away quite well. If the room is larger, the older Speakertrack 60 might be a better choice - it has two cameras that have up to 20X zoom so it can handle a larger room. The downside of the latter is larger cameras that move (which can be distracting), but it works very well.
