Hi @waschminator - great question. I asked a few of our experts to weigh in and they had some information for us:
We do not currently have a cloud template for GCP. They mentioned getting an agent from the GCP marketplace, please let them know to be cautious! Any ThousandEyes agent VM templates in the GCP marketplace are not managed by ThousandEyes, nor are they supported by us (so we can't help them if they run into a problem with it).
For GCP the only option we have is to deploy a Linux VM using a supported OS and install the agent as a Linux Package install, or to deploy as a docker container (Not kubernetes as we don't currently support it).
Supported Linux OS distributions: https://docs.thousandeyes.com/product-documentation/global-vantage-points/enterprise-ag[…]ent-system-requirements/enterprise-agent-support-lifecycle
Linux package install instructions: https://docs.thousandeyes.com/product-documentation/global-vantage-points/enterprise-ag[…]ges/enterprise-agent-deployment-using-linux-package-method
Docker install instructions: https://docs.thousandeyes.com/product-documentation/global-vantage-points/enterprise-ag[…]ing/docker-agents/installing-enterprise-agents-with-docker
While we don't currently support deploying in GCP natively, here are some options to monitor GCP. If insights into their Google cloud services are desired Cloud Agents are a good option. For insights into private networks, Enterprise Agents are the best option.
