Once the customer is in the Smart Net Total Care portal, both the base and premium offers can be accessed by clicking on the Threat Awareness service security frame, which is located via the left hand navigation.
The portal will direct customers through the registration process, providing instructions for assigning the Threat Awareness Service user role. Each customer’s Delegated Admin (DA) will need to grant you the CTAS User role. The Delegated Admin can grant user roles through the Cisco Services Access Management Tool.
Once a CTAS User role is granted, you can start using the service. In order to gain visibility into any potential threats to their network, customers need to register new network resources, including domain names and IP addresses. These can be expressed as either:
1. a single IP address
2. an IP Address range, or
3. a Classless Inter-Domain Routing CIDR block.
Customers will need to authorize network resources by either:
1. sending an email to the contacts identified in WHOIS
2. adding DNS cookies as TXT records to DNS
Once network resources are authorized, information will be available on the portal within approximately 24 hours.
If the customer has the paid for premium Cisco Threat Awareness Service this enhanced feature set will appear automatically.
