NSO Service as a Code - Maintain and Deploy network services via NSO using CICD pipeline
Automation Developer Days, NetDevOps Track, May 11, 2023
Abstract:
Network-as-Code is a concept where network & network service configuration data is maintained, tested, and deployed using Software Development tools like Git and CICD pipelines, enabling new ways to collaborate on network changes and validate the changes prior to deployment. We will demonstrate this concept to deploy network services implemented on Cisco's Network Services Orchestrator (NSO), leveraging some of NSO's unique capabilities which support the full service-lifecycle (create, change/update and delete) very efficiently, and also demonstrate how you can automate the validation using Robot Framework, all deployed within a CICD pipeline. The complete proof-of-concept code used within the demo is made available on public GitLab so you can get a head-start implementing this modern concept in your own environment, which can help you to reduce the risk associated with network changes.
