Add users on CUP 8.0(4)

Hi all,

i've a customer with a CUCM cluster 8.0(3a) and a CUP server version 8.0.4.10000-5. I need to add more UPC users, can i use the top level part number "CUP8.6-USER-ADD" to add users for a CUP 8.0 solution? So it is ok to use the BOM below?

CUP8.6-USER-ADD

CUP8.6-USER-LIC

UPC-K9-OPT

UPC8-CLIENT-LIC

Are you trying to add more users to be able to log in and IM?  Or are you looking to add more softphone devices for each user?  If you are looking to add softphones for users then you simply need to buy more Call Manager DLU's to create the additional devices.

If you want to add more users for IM and presence you should know that you no longer have to pay for these licenses.  With the Jabber for Everyone promotion you get these licenses for free.  You merely have to install the Jabber for Everyone COP file on the CUCM publisher and this will allow you to license user's for free.  You can read more about this here:

Hi Jason,

i'm trying to add both IM and softphone. At the moment i don't want to use J4E since that this require to upgrade the CUP server to at last version 8.6(4). So for expanding the actual installation can i use the parts number above adding the CUCM users for the softphone configuration?
