Bulk Import Tool doesn't support billing ID???

Hello,

We have a new 4,000 user installation of Unity and we are at the subscriber import stage. We have all user information including billing ID in a CSV file but I can't find the column header for Billing ID. There are approximately 400 different billing IDs we need to associate with each of the user accounts. I'm afraid we will have to edit each subscriber record manually since there doesn't appear to be any way to import billing ID info except by creating 400 subscriber templates. Does anybody know a way to get the Bulk Import Tool to import the billing ID with a subscriber?

Thanks,

Brad Welch

Currently the CUBI tool doesn't search for that column in the CSV file - it doesn't claim to edit each and every property on a subscriber by any stretch and this is one of those they didn't do. As far as I know this is the first time it's ever been asked for, either. The best I can suggest is to get a PERs in for it through your account team. I know that doesn't help you with the short term need here.

The BulkEdit tool lets you do this for groups of subscribers - but with 400 different billing IDs that sounds like about 10 subscribers per ID and selecting those folks for editing sounds like a challange unless they're in seperate Public DLs or are associated with seperate COSes or have a know extension range or something (which sounds kind of far fetched).

My fears are founded then. So it looks like I'll be creating 400 Sub Templates with billing IDs and named after billing IDs then importing using the subscriber_template header. I'll follow up by deleting all of the Sub templates. It beats touching 4000 records. Any problems with that approach?

Thanks

Other than the tedious work involved for you, there shouldn't be a technical problem with that approach... it should work. I'd probably create a couple templates and import a couple test users to be sure everything works as expected before creating all 400 of those templates. I'm a big "show me" guy...

The test worked -now for the fun part...click,click,click
