Cisco Presence Upgrade from 8.5 to latest version

I'm am preparing to upgrade our CUCM, CUC, CCCX, and CUP servers from 8.6 to the latest versions (11.x). Our environment consists of 2 CUCMs (pub&sub), 2 CUCs (pub&sub), 1 CCX, and 1 CUP. In the documentation I came across this passage:

"Cisco Unified Presence technology has been integrated with Cisco Unified Communications Manager for Release 9.0 and later. All the features and capabilities of Cisco Unified Presence 8.6 are now part of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager."

I'm not sure what our server distribution is going to look like beyond version 9.x.x. Am I correct in assuming that once I upgrade the CUCM servers to 9.x.x and beyond that I am no longer in need of the CUP server? Or does the old CUP server now just run the CUCM software?

Please advise.

Neither, it just means that most of the config tasks have been moved over to CUCM GUI, you STILL need a separate server to run IM&P and a separate ISO for the installation.

Besides the admin changes, now IM&P is considered to be a subscriber to CUCM.

I have a video on that
