Hello,

I am trying to install the Personal Communicator 8.5.3 on our Terminal Server and it keeps crashing. Can you help me get this working? I don't read anywhere that this is not supported and if not is there any workaround. It would be terrible to have purchased this software to find that the majority of our users are unable to make use of it due to the fact they run terminals.

The following errors are in the Event log.

Detection of product '{9AAB967B-D412-4B84-808B-6CD27C03E011}', feature 'OfficeIntegrationC2X' failed during request for component '{5A2B39F2-CB75-4EE0-9583-5E26B87B57BF}'

We do not list in the documentation everything we do not support, we specifically mention what we support. Anything else that is not mentioned in the docs, means not supported.

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Support

Cisco Unified Personal Communicator Release 8.5(3) is supported on the  following hosted virtual desktop applications:

VMware View 4.5

Citrix XenDesktop 4.0

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/cupc/8_5/english/release/notes/cupc85.html#wp274793

Those are the only VDI supported apps to the day.

We have ecactly the same error on a stand alone PC but with Windows 7 and WITHOUT Admin rights for the

user. We can start WITH Admin rights! This looks like a BUG!
