Collaboration Edge - DNS Records

Network Admin

From Cisco Document for Expressway , DNS Records requirements , say for example :

For Public DNS :-

  •  Service   : collab-edge
  •  Protocol  : tls

But in the table , they did not mention to prefix  " _ " (underscore) with collab-edge or tls. Am confused do I have to manualy add "_" (underscore) before collab-edge while filling SRV Records  or it takes automatically ?

Similarly for  cisco-uds , tcp , tls , cuplogin etc.  Please clarify ?

Hi Mate,

That's the format of the SRV record, you have to type in the underscores. In the tables they have provided you the detailed information like service, protocol etc.

So you create your DNS SRV entried accordingly.

Refer to below example screenshot:

Also read through the wikipedia article here for understanding of the SRV records.

Just one more thing ,  In the Cisco Official Basic Configuration Deployment Guide , I saw some other SRV Record entries as listed below  ,  h323cs , h323ls, turn etc .

Q1. Do we need to add them as well   along with the other entries I asked above ?

Q2. What if both my internal and External Domain are same  say company.com ?  (here below I see internal and external domain are different  )
