Compatibility CUCM 8.6 and CME 4.1

Hello .

Is there a problem with interopability between CUCM 8.6 and CallManagerExpress? A customer wants to upgrade from CM 6.1 to CUCM 8.6 and I wonder if I have to upgrade their CME environment? They als have older phone images.

My personal take is that there is no version dependency. Adding CME as H323 GW in CUCM for dialing between systems is not dependant on any version. However if you look at Cisco matrix(as a part of their testing) they only tested with 8.6. That is often the case as Cisco doesn’t go back and test versions but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t work
