Please help me with the instructions to configure the DID for cisco unity connection ivr, so that external callers can reach the ivr thru DID.

The configuration you would need for a DID is the same, regardless if it's going to ring a phone, be directed to CUC or anything else.

The most common way to do what you ask for is to create a CTI Route Point and configure the directory number on it so that it matches the DID number and then set Call Forward All on the directory number to voice mail by checking that check box.
