CTI dll component development

We have to develop a custom cti dll component to integrate in a CRM application. Are there some preferences to choose CTIOSServer.dll or ctiserver32.dll for integration in our dll component? Our development language and environment should be C Sharp whitin dotnet framework 3.xx.
