Hi Everyone
We are in the process of moving our users to Unity Connection and my manger wanted me to find out is there like a rule of thumb when it comes to VM ports. We have 48 VM ports and we are going to have 1100 users once everything is done with our consolidation of nodes.

Hi Eric,
A general rule of thumb for port allocation is to reserve 25% of the available ports to perform message notification, send MWI requests, and provide Telephone Record and Playback (TRAP) connections. On a 48 port server, this equates to 36 ports configured to strictly answer calls. The remaining 12 ports would be used as noted above (the “Answer Calls” parameter should be disabled on these ports).
