CUCM Cluster Migrating from 2500 device OVA to 7500 device OVA

We have a CUCM cluster of 6 servers and 3 of the 6 are currently on 2500 OVA (the original cluster Pub/Sub1/Sub2).  I know we should have servers with mixed OVAs but we do.

I am using the procedure to Restore the System:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/11_0_1/administration/CUCM_BK_A0A10476_00_administration-guide-for-cisco-unified/Restore_the_Sytem.pdf

I will start with the Publisher and then do the remaining 2 Subscribers.

Questions:

  • On the Publisher, do I have to backup the PLM and CDR_CAR when i select the UCM to backup?  If i don't backup the CDR will i lose those records.
  • When i restore the subscribers, do i only select UCM or can i use the same backup that I did with the Publisher (assuming that I need to select all three, UCM, PLM and CDR_CAR).
  • I will restart the entire cluster once the Publisher is completed but will I need to restart the entire cluster each time I restore the subscriber?

  • On the Publisher, do I have to backup the PLM and CDR_CAR when i select the UCM to backup?  If i don't backup the CDR will i lose those records.  You don't have to back them up, but if you do not then they will not be included in the restore.
  • When i restore the subscribers, do i only select UCM or can i use the same backup that I did with the Publisher (assuming that I need to select all three, UCM, PLM and CDR_CAR).  You will select the subsequent nodes you want to restore.  You can also just do an entire cluster restore at once.
  • I will restart the entire cluster once the Publisher is completed but will I need to restart the entire cluster each time I restore the subscriber?  You don't have to but it won't hurt
