Hello, I would need help with having CM working as an external directory for CME. I have tried the official documentation with no success. I found information about some workaround but a lot of thread leads to page not found so dead end on this.

I am using SIP device

SIP

The only result I get is phone display -0 contact-.

SCCP corporate directory is working

CUCM 10.5.2

CME 11.6

Here is the step that I have followed

  • reset phone in cucm and cme

Anyone has any idea what would do the trick?

Thanks

Hello ,

Refer below link for external directory for CME as a CUCM .

Please rate useful comment .

Have you gone through the restrictions mentioned on below document.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/unified-communications/unified-communications-manager-express/212091-Configure-and-Troubleshoot-Directory-Ser.html

Restrictions

  1. Configuring external directory service only works with non-Java based phones. Any Java based phone will display duplicate directories for the following:
  • Missed
  • Received
  • Placed
  1. In case you want to use CUCM as external directory, the phones should be configured in CUCM to realize their MAC addresses. Its not necessary for the phones to register with CUCM or to assign DNs but they have to be configured for MAC address purpose.
