CUPC and GSM 6.10 Codec

Having an issue with Cisco Unified Presence Client (Presence 7.x / Unity 7.x) and Unity - on CUPC users are unable to listen to voicemail on the desktop - TAC has attributed this to the fact we are using the GSM 6.10 codec to encode voicemails (support for mobile devices) but GSM is not officially support by CUPC - sometimes the voicemails play, most of the time you get an error. This happens on both the PC and Mac clients. All other functions of voicemail / CUPC work just fine. Does anyone know of a 3rd party product to allow the voicemails to be played on both the PC and Mac clients? I have heard that maybe Mobility Advantage might do it - but that is not an option. Supposedly, Cisco presales told the customer of a 3rd party that will fix this and of course nobody can tell us what it is.

Please consider the following conditions for your response:

1) the codec on unity cannot be changed.

2) the solution must cover both PC and Mac clients.

3) if you are using GSM 6.10 for unity and your CUPC voicemails play thru CUPC on your PC/Mac client just fine - I want to hear about it!

4) mobile advantage (if this would truly fix it) is not an option, however if you can confirm this is the only answer, I would like to know it.

CUPC supports G.711 and G.729. GSM codec is not supported.

CUMC is not a "VoIP" solution. Media channels on CUMC does NOT go through IP network. It goes through PSTN. That's why they said CUMC would work (just like any PSTN phone would work).
