CUPC Performance & Filter problems

Hello,

We are experiencing two CUPC problems.

First: Our Microsoft Office installation, eg Word and Excel, are facing performance problems after the CUPC client, version 8.0.171.15962, has been installed. A practical example: Holding the down button in Excel goes really slow, cell by cell. When we uninstall the CUPC client the performance returns back to normal. We have tested this in Office 2003, 2007 and 2010. All versions of Office are facing the same performance problem.

Two: Incoming calls are not filtered correctly by name and number. A practiacl example: If an internal user exists with number 333 and an external number, eg 0435333822, calls the person that runs the communicator they will match. The match is based on 0435(333)822. The communicator will identify the caller as being user 333 instead of 0435333822 with name 'unknown'. The forum suggests that we create a directory look-up dial rule in CUCm. This rule will strip incoming numbers so only the last three numbers are used to look in the directory. Sadly this rule also applies to our manually created contacts. Therefore it will change the contact number from, for example, 0436223461 to just 461. This rule should only be applied to incoming calls and not to outgoing calls.

Thanks,

Bryan.

Hi Bryan

1) Are you using trend micro by any chance? If so you may be affected by CSCtj64783    PC Perfomance Slowed when Click to Call Plugin is Used in CUPC 8.x. The workaround would be to not install Click to call Plug-in or to make CUPC Dir exempt from scanning in Trend Micro. Though we cannot reproduce this issue, if you open a TAC case development can investigate this furhter.

2) Make sure you are using CUPC 8.0(3), in 8.0(2) there was indeed a mixup between the application dial rules and the directory lookup rules. In 8.0(3) this has been fixed.
