CUPC Without using Call Manager

I have a customer who currently has a NEC PBX. THey are doing a demo/try and buy of CM6.1 on a limited basis. We are tying their NEC to the Unity server using PIMG.

My question. Some of the users who will still have an NEC deskphone, and will still use the NEC PBX for their call processing would like to try out CUPC, Single number reach, and Presence.

Do you have to be using CM as a call processor to use any of these applications?

Thank you in advance

You still need to use CUCM. Its the only way it will work currently. Hopefully someday SIP will grow up with Cisco and Presence will be compatible with other manufacturers.

It's not so much the call processor. It also uses LDAP with AD, user authentication, CTI control, etc with CUCM. It almost acts like a gateway, but leveraging CUCM
