Hi All,
I would just like to clarify if we can apply the latest devpack cmterm-devicepack9.1.2.16147-1.cop.sgn to CUCM 9.1.1 to support 78XX IP Phones?
As per checking with the CUCM Device Package compatibility matrix: Only Unified CM 9.1(2), 10.5(2), 11.0(1) and 11.5(1) are listed. There is a link for CM 9.1(2) devpack available for download.
And if you can see at this link, for CUCM 9.1.1 no devpack is currently available.
My understanding is if we installed the latest devpack cmterm-devicepack9.1.2.16147-1.cop.sgn to CM 9.1(1), it only enabled the 7821, 7841 and 7861 only lacking the 7811 model.
And to support the 7811 model, I need to upgrade the CM to 9.1(2) and applied the devpack to fully support all 78XX Phone model?
Thank you,
Josh

Hi Josh,
the datasheet says u need to have CUCM 9.1.2 for all 78XX series IP phones. Attached is call control support.
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/collaboration-endpoints/unified-ip-phone-7800-series/data-sheet-c78-729488.html
Then, u can add device pack after Call manager is upgraded to 9.1.2

Hi Aman,
Thank you for your response. So there is no available devpack for CM 9.1.1 to support 78XX Phones? Thanks

No, DevPacks are only available for Maintenance Releases, and the MR for 9.1 is 9.1(2)
My understanding is if we installed the latest devpack cmterm-devicepack9.1.2.16147-1.cop.sgn to CM 9.1(1), it only enabled the 7821, 7841 and 7861 only lacking the 7811 model.
If you try to do that, it will simply error out due to version mismatch.

Thank you for enlighten me on this. We will upgrade the CM to 9.1(2) by tomorrow then will apply the devpack and will let you know. Currently the version of CM is 9.1.1 and CUC 9.1.1, once I upgraded the CM to 9.1(2) should I need to upgrade the CUC also to 9.1(2) or this is also compatible to CM 9.1(2)? Many Thanks!

Hi,
you can refer the table 17. CUCM 9.1.1 is supported with CUCM 9.1.

Hi Aman,
We encountered a problem during downloading of iso file. We received "error encountered: the selected file is not valid. md5 hash value"
I'm upgrading from CUCM 9.1.1.20000-5 to 9.1.2.16900-2 (SU6)
I checked the release notes and I think it is compatible for the upgrade. It seems that we need to install a COP file "ciscocm.version3-keys.cop.sgn" prior to upgrade to 9.1.2? if it is, I though we do not need to install COP since we are just upgrading to a minor patched?
Appreciate your feedback.

Hi,
Did u check the MD5 checksum if patch being uploaded?
secondly, I was going through the READ ME notes which says
http://www.cisco.com/web/software/282204704/18582/RSA3ver4.pdf
If you are already running CUCM release 10.x or higher you already have this fix and do not need to install this Cisco Options Package (COP) file.
If you are running an Engineering Special (ES) or Service Update (SU) that already contains CSCua88701 you do not need to install this COP file.
CSCua88701 is included in: - 8.5.1.17123-1 and higher - 8.6.2.24122-1 and higher - 9.1.2.11018-1 and higher
In your case, CUCM version is 9.1.1 .

Hey!
I don't know if you're still facing this issue or not, but here goes.
I had exactly the same issue as you. Same CUCM version, same MD5 error and same ISO file for upgrade.
i just used SFTP to upload the file ciscocm.version3-keys.cop.sgn (checksum: 95a676f969777f72bfe82fa0ffd896fa) to CUCM and then proceeded with the upgrade to 9.1.2.16900-2 (SU6).
And that's it!
Just finished my upgrade a couple minutes ago and all went fine!
Best of luck!

Goncalo

Hi All,
I would just like to update you on this.
Once you upgrade to 9.1.2, you no longer need to apply a devpack to support 78XX IP Phone model as these already supported natively from 9.1.2!

Hi,
No, there is not existing device pack on CUCM version 9.1.1 that would support 78XX, also as a general thumb room once Cisco introduces a main release which in this case is 9.1.2 train, they don't do a lot of development for interim Train. Also 9.X is nearing end of maintenance date.
I would suggest you to upgrade to at least CUCM 9.1.2 for support for 78XX.
(Rate if it helps)

Hi josh,
you need to upgrade call manager to 9.1.2 if u refer datasheet.
adding device pack to CUCM 9.1 is not going to help.
