Ok, i'm resurrecting a dead thread topic from 2012 because it appears to be an issue with our current install on 9.1.2
CUCM 9.1.2.10000-28
9971 running FW sip9971.9-4-1-9 upgraded from sip9971.9-3-2SR1-1
I'm looking to disable the ABC/123 button and still cannot find where to do so. There is a previous thread for version 8.6 where the question went unanswered, and seemingly died.
We're trying to eliminate extraneous features for the customer experience to minimize confusion in the transition.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Matt

Hey Matt,
There is a Severity level 6 (Enhancement) bug open on this
with no "fixed-in" firmware available
Ability to disable A B C softkey from Feature Control Policy
Sorry buddy!
Cheers!

Thanks for the update,Rob.
there needs to be a tiny emoticon that has an angry face and a shaking fist for things like this.
Best,
Matt

You are most welcome Matt! As for the emoticon idea, I like it
alot and think it may stand a greater chance of happening than
getting this bug fixed
Engage your SE & AM and open a "product enhancement request"
and you can give them a first hand look at your emoticon idea
when you meet with them
Cheers!

Rob,
Thanks for the info. I've checked the bugID and it still doesn't list a fix, just a workaround to downgrade to a firmware version that's over 5 years old. I agree with others that still not having the option to disable this softkey is pretty poor.
Anyone have an update on the angry face/shaking fist emoticon?
Vin
