g729 and g711

I have a centralised CCM and Unity set up. CCM is configured to run G729 to remote offices. Unity is version 4.2.1.

Can the Unity system support BOTH codecs at the same time - ie can local users use g711, but remote users use G729? Or if I convert to G729, will everyone use G729?

from the documentation I have read, it looks like I can choose G729, but from then on, everything will be recorded in G729.

Hi, you're going able to use only one codec, you cant't use both at the same time if you're using only one Unity server. There is an interesting white paper at the CCO about the codecs with Unity at:
