IVR function & Jabber

Can someone clarify whether the IVR function is handled by CUCM or CUBE? I couldn't find a straightforward answer on this.

Additionally, I need to know the required licenses for including IVR and Softphone (Jabber) options

In the most basic of setups, CUCM/Unity Connection/UCCX is handling the IVR functions..."welcome..push 1 to reach so and so".  The CUBE is just routing voice related traffic (signaling, RTP, etc.).

A CUBE can be co-resident with CME/SRST functions too, which has IVR, but that does not happen often.

@John Steele  what you're saying is we don't need the CUBE for IVR function, right? Also, imagine we freshly deploying a voice solution do we need the CUBE or can we just rely on the CUCM or do we need both ?

CUCM does not provide IVR functionality (yes I know there is a corner case or two, e.g. MVA). Simple auto attendants are available with Unity Connection Call Handlers. Advanced IVR functionality requires Contact Center Express or Webex Contact Center.

CUBE is a Session Border Controller which is typically deployed at the administrative boundary (e.g. between CUCM and a PSTN provider’s SIP trunk) or when interworking between solutions (e.g. CUCM and a UCaaS solution or another vendor’s PBX). CUCM should never be exposed to the internet or an untrusted system directly.

@Yohan1 ..Jonathan has rightly said that for advanced IVR functionality you will need a Cisco Conact Center solution.

If your setup does not have a Cisco Contact Center solution but you need a basic IVR with just Cisco CUCM, you can achieve this with a custom third-party IVR solution that seamlessly integrates with Cisco CUCM.
We have delivered these kind of basic IVR solutions for CUCM to a number of our customers.
For above third-party application options, feel free to send a email to info@parsec-tech.com.

also "imagicle" company, which is one of cisco partnerts in market,
they introduce module "IVR" for connect & service to CUCM.. (they call it "Auto Attendant")
feel free to register an account on their website & download 30 days trial ".ova" appliance virtual machine..

and of course that cisco self made products are CUC & UCCX
which CUC is mainly a VoiceMail system, also can be used for a regular IVR service,
but for most advanced IVR features & complexity, you must use UCCX..
