I just setup my Voice Lab and for some reason when I try to dial a long distance number it seems like it drops the area code and pushed staight to the 7 digit number. Any idea on why this is?
I'm tryingn to call a Time & Temp number (913) 682 8463
Here is my config:

You might be matching your .T dial-peer which is configured to forward only 7. Your 91........... dial-peer is not matching since that's a total of 11 numbers and your dialing 10 numbers.

Yosh

Sorry still kinda new to this. What would be the fix, can you show me the config?
06-06-2013 06:24 AM
If you're dialing 913-682-8463 without no access or long distance codes, then you should use the dial-peer below:
dial-peer voice 2 pots
destination-pattern 91........
port 1/1/1
forward-digits 10
If not, dial using 9-1--913-682-8463, which you would then match the dial-peer below:
dial-peer voice 1 pots
preference 1
destination-pattern 91..........
port 1/1/1
forward-digits 11

Ok, so these are the dial-peers I have right now. I added the VOICE 2 POTS, but still no success.
Do I need to get rid of some of the dial-peers I have now to clear/clean up my config?

Can you post the output from a "debug voip dialpeer" with the example of the called number?

Are you receivng a call intercept from your carrier? If this is a long distance call leaving the router, out a POTs line and the carrier is expecting to see 1-913-682-0001, you will need to change dial-peer 2.
Configuration examples below:
With an access code of "9"
dial-peer voice 2 pots
destination-pattern 91..........
port 1/1/1
forward-digits 11
Without an access code of "9"
dial-peer voice 2 pots
destination-pattern 191........
port 1/1/1
forward-digits 11

Awesome that works....one last question. Caller-ID doesn't show up on external numbers, how can have the phone show who is calling?

If you want to receive CID, you have configure your FXO ports with "caller-id enable" as seen below:
voice-port 1/1/0
trunk-group OUT
no battery-reversal
cptone GB
connection plar opx 1001
description Office Line
caller-id enable
voice-port 1/1/1
no battery-reversal
cptone GB
connection plar opx 1002
description Home Line
caller-id enable

So you are unable to apply the "caller-id enable" command on your FXO ports?
To allow the sending or receiving of caller-ID information, use the caller-id enable command in voice-port configuration mode at the sending foreign exchange station (FXS) voice port or the receiving foreign exchange office (FXO) voice port. To disable the sending and receiving of caller-ID information, use the no form of this command.
caller-id enable [type {1 | 2}]
no caller-id enable [type {1 | 2}]
The sending and receiving of caller-ID information is disabled.
