MediaSense Search and Play URL points to IP address rather than hostname

Hi,

I have installed MediaSense 11.0.1.10000-103

On the Installed Applications web page that loads when you browse to the hostname the links below appear.

• Cisco MediaSense
• Cisco MediaSense Search and Play

The first link includes the FQDN in the URL

The second link uses the IP address rather than FQDN. When this is clicked it causes a certificate error.

This issue looks similar to CSCut49399 which is specific to 10.5(1)SU1.

Has anyone seen this?

The issue is still there in version 11 Media Sense and that is the reason, it does not show any Media Sense Version under Known Fix Releases yet. However there is a workaround for this issue that TAC can help you with by taking the root access of your system, hence contact them and get the workaround applied.

The CDET that takes care of this specific issue is CSCux92071.

CSCux92071 - MediaSense page redirects you to IP of Search and Play instead of FQDN

It will be available in the next ES on 11.0 MediaSense release.

Till then use a simple workaround of bookmarking the Search & Play page with the FQDN as in the certificates.
