Merging two clusters v10.5.2

We currently have two clusters, running 10.5.2, theirs and ours. We need to merge the two into one. My train of thought would be to import all of their CM data onto our CM. Here are my concerns/questions:

  1. Can we move all of their info over via BAT?
  2. Should we use BAT or more of a phased approach export/import approach? I’d prefer phased.
    1. Is there an export/import checklist?
  3. Should we use Prime Collaboration Deployment? (Not currently installed)
    1. If so, which version of PCD is preferred, 10.5 or 10.6?
  4. Is licensing simply a process of rehosting from their ELM to our ELM?
    1. Can we rehost in increments for a phased approach?
  5. I’m not sure yet what applications they are running, outside of Unity Connection and possibly Informacast and Emergency Responder. My assumption would be reregister the Informacast to our CM since we do not currently use this service, and then move their CER data and licensing to our CER?

Any hand-holding I can get on this grandiose project would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

To answer few queries.

You can use BAT to export and import the users in a phased manner. After few users are migrated on new CUCM , you would get a grace period for 60 days.

Secondly, you need to share the PLM request  from final CUCM 10.5 cluster so that you can get permanent licenses. You can get the licenses for all migrated users in one attempt from licensing team.

I suppose PCD does not support users migration from one to different cluster.

  • To migrate from an existing cluster to a new cluster of VM machines, see Migration Task.
  • To upgrade the Unified Communications Manager version of an existing cluster, see Upgrade Task.
  • To switch the version of an existing cluster, see Switch Versions Task.
  • To restart an existing cluster, see Server Restart Task.
  • To change the hostname or IP address of one or more servers in an existing cluster, see Readdress Task.
  • To create a new UC cluster from VM machines, see Install Task.aman
