Hi,
we are planning to migrate from cucm 6.1 to 8.6 in vmware.
My question is, how do you port dlu from 6.1 to 8.6 ?
Just ask licensing@cisco.com to rehoming dlu in virtual mac address?
And which product code should I buy for the 8 cm software?
If instead we use a 3x3 to go to ucl,dlu how each can have a ucl for $3???
Thanks

When you migrate your database from 6 to 8 your current DLU will port as is and you can work with licensing to rehome to the new virtual MAC. If you don’t have rights to upgrade then you move to 3x3 or CUWL. With 3x3 for 3 dollars per user you will get the rights to the software for major upgrades and DLU to turn on features like single number reach which is included. Your current DLU will port as is since those are perpetual.
You do the same for Uconn which also is applicable to 3x3..you will see options for 8.5/8.6 under CUCM-USR-LIC or CUWL-LIC-STD-K9 or CUWL-LIC-PRO-K9
Check the OG for more details

Thanks Srini,

Yes depending on the number of users. UCL today is still DLU in the backend. I cannot comment on the BU policy when 9 comes out but today it is perpetual

Hi Mr. skilambi
I have some doubts regarding the CUCM 8.0 licensing.
1. Is it DLUs with CUCM 8.0?
2. If not why it showing required DLUs in License Unit Calculator?
3. Can I use UCL and UWL with CUCM 8.0?
Waiting for reply
Thank You
Mohammed

Yes UCM 8 is still DLU but the front end ordering is either UCL or CUWL. But the order gives you DLU. Yes you can use UCL and CUWL

I have the following IP phones that should be added to CUCM 8.0. Can you please guide me how to order (looking SKUs) the license for the following.
9971-- 1
9951-- 1
8941-- 50
6941--1
and does it require any license for expansion modules.
Best Regards

Start with the ordering guide. It will walk you through the steps. You can license all the phones as UCL ENH or higher.
If this is a new customer use R-CUCM-USR-LIC and for add on use L-CUCM-USR-LIC-ADD

Thank you Srini
Could you please give me the link to download CUCM 8.0 ordering guide?
We are a selected partner of Cisco, so we can download it.
Best Regards

I can only provide the link, I cannot give you the ordering guide as it would violate terms of agreement

Thank you dear Srini
Really helpful. Sorry for the trouble again. I have a new cluster of CUCM 9.1. around 2100 users are there. I planned to have a Cluster of 4 Call managers.
1.Publisher
2. Dedicated TFTP server
3. Subscriber 1(primary)
4. Subscriber 2(Secondary)
I planned to order UWL professional for my users. But i have some confusion regarding the node licenses. Do we need any node license in CUCM 9.1? Or is it enough the user license?
Thank you

Node licenses aren’t counted anymore just user licensing
Thanks
