Hi
i have a customer who is "scared" if the Jabber Chat History is stored anywhere else then on the local PC.

Is there any documentation where the beaviour of Jabber Client and where which information ist stored is descripted?

I had a look in plenty of documents but i did not find anything regarding this part

In this Post https://community.cisco.com/t5/collaboration-applications/how-to-retrieve-the-chat-history-from-cisco-jabber-for-windows/td-p/2047248

I found the information i know, too

  • XP - C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF\History
  • Vista - C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF\History
  • Win7 - C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF\History"

But where is an official document proofing my customer thta this i true?

There is a way for jabber sessions to be stored off the machine.

We have a persistent chat option with external databases.

I think it could also be stored in the email server.

If the person wants secure messaging, they should look at products like Signal on their mobile phone.
