Potential Issues with Bulk Unassigned DN Ranges

Does anyone know of any potential issues with loading up say 100 Unassigned DN's in UCM (8.6) with all the Directory Number Settings but not assigned to a device??

The end game here is we have a few 100 DIDs that are reserved for different reasons (diff caller ID or for a customer) that we want loaded in the system so they are reserved and no one will try and use them (the idea being someone will add a DID from this and the description will populate and they will know they need to grab a different DID).

I can even forward to Unity but dont think it matters as these are all NEW DIDs that have never been assigned nor advertised.

Our engineering team seems to think this will cause an issue as call manager will be under a heavy load constantly trying to figure out what devices these unassigned DNs are attached to.  I say no because they have never been assigned to a device are are essentially a place holder.

Would this cause an issue?

If so - how do you guys manage your un-used DIDs in call manager - it seems awfully archaic to manage a spreadsheet with unused DID's that we have to rely on the entire team across the world to update when they make changes when we basically have a database (Call manager) here to do that for us!

Thoughts?

This will not cause any issues and can be safely done. In addition you can make the DNs inactive if you prefer.
